I was just looking through my blog, thinking about updating it because I’m bored haha. If you haven’t noticed already, my domain name has changed. You can read about that on my Facebook or Instagram profile. I can’t be bothered repeating it here haha. And then I realized that my photo on my header of the blog is over a year old and so is my Facebook cover photo. So I’ve gotta find the time to update those. We haven’t been able to have our family photos this year because when we scheduled them the weather was terrible and then we’ve been so busy every other weekend.

Last week Bryton turned 30 and we had a small party for him with our family and friends. It was so nice to get together and celebrate for him. He’s not one to have a party all about him (although I know he loves the spotlight haha). I just figured that 30 is a big age, he’s never really had a party just for him, and I’m so proud of all he has accomplished so far!

His sister and I bought him tickets to the Foo Fighters & Weezer concert. He was really wanting to go and when he asked me if he should go I said no. I felt so bad because I knew how badly he wanted to go but I blamed it on us spending a lot of money on his party so we can’t really get him a ticket to the concert too haha.

My family bought both Bryton and I taonga – greenstone necklaces. Bryton’s means a basket of knowledge and the koru on it is his whakapapa (or whānau, I can’t remember). Mine means strength. Aston gets my taonga that I had as a child.

Bryton also made his own cake haha. I asked him if he wanted me to buy one (there was no way I was going to make it haha) but he insisted on making his own because he makes really delicious cakes and knew everyone would enjoy it – and they did!

It was also the day that we said goodbye to his beard. He’s been growing it for about 4 months and it was pretty cool but I was so ready for it to be gone. So at 11pm that night we shaved his beard in stages, from full beard to goatee to moustache. I was so excited to see him with a clean shaven face! That most definitely is my favourite look on him, and everyone noticed at church the next day!

Anyway, life has been so busy and I know I haven’t blogged in a while – two months to be exact! But I just wanted to let you know that I’m still here and I’m still writing (when time allows me). I’m trying to be more proactive on my social media accounts so go follow me there.

I hope you have a wonderful Spring!
